Creative Journal with Noe

 Hi everyone!!

Noe here, sorry I disappeared last week, but with babies at home and virus loose out there... sometimes day a day  from a mother is complicated ... From here I want to thank my teammates Pi and Anna for their help!

So after a exhausting days nothing better than a little Mixed Media to take off stress!!

Here is my first project for this week (yes, I´ll return again on Friday with a new creation), it´s one of the pages to my creative journal.

I love playing for hours with my paints, my stencils, my gelatos and my different texture paste !! It's really fun! I recommend it for those days when you're discouraged!

The Doll is drawn and painted on watercolor paper. I paint it with my Neocolors and then I added it on the background that I created previously...

One layer card

Hi everyone!

Pi here for the second time this week :D
I know, I know. You've been wondering all week where Noe is, but don't worry! You'll be seeing more of her gorgeous creations next week - so hang in there.

For this card I challenged myself to only use one layer, I was having trouble to see how I would make my card not seem empty or flat. But then I went to pinterest and o'boy! I find that the danger with pinterest, like overall the wireless crafting community, is you spend hours oh-ing and awe-ing. But in the end you get nothing done. Anyone with me on this?
Hmmm... I'll have to admit I went abit OTT with this card in the end...
I should have stopped both 1, 2 and 3 steps earlier. This could probably have been 2 gorgeous cards - LOL!

But over to the card itself. I made the background scene with distress ink and post-its. I cut a hillshape from the post-it and used that as a mask. I then tried to create soft shadows and depht. I don't know about you, but it never seem to work out until the card is almost done, before it comes to life... I then used the tree from my latest stamp set from Lawn Fawn, Toboggan together, but if you look closely, you'll notice my first mess up.

I didn't mask the trees thus, as I was aiming for a cluster of tree tops, I stamped over the crisp white edge. It may be that I'm the only one bothered by this... To me it still looked a little empty, but I really could have stopped here. However, my baby was still sound asleep, so I kept going... I created a branch in the foreground using Deck the Halls by Lawn Fawn, this is a stamp set that will never go out of style. I even added a bit of clear wink of stella to the pine cones, so they are nice and shimmery.

Now that I had started to get the hang of things, I started to play with all the snowflake sizes in the sets. So I started with the smallest from the top left using third generation stamping and then the further right I got, the larger the snowflakes became and I now use second generation stamping. The only first generation stamping I used for the snowflakes (beside another little boo-ho, which I hope you wont notice) is the large snowflake from The toboggan together set.

Well how about stopping now? I'm a bit unsure of how the depht looks to anyone who is not me, but it is certainly not empty at least. But no, if only my baby had woken up now - LOL!
I had to get a sentiment in there... As I had, up til now, still not had the chance to play with Ranger's embossing powder in liquid platinum...
Let's just say - I'm not happy with the placement of the sentiment and leave it at that...

Small ink blending tool (I wish I had these)
Masking paper (or use post-it)

Many thanks for visiting and bravo if you read it all :D

Missing You

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here on this lovely Thursday.

I recently got some amazing papers from Blue Fern Studio.  This paper from Love Story - Twenty One is double sided so you can use both sides to create amazing projects.

I love adding dimension to my cards so I fussy cut around the car and flowers and placed it back on the card after matting it with black cardstock.  Missing You is from a Prima stamp and it fit perfectly within  the Spellbinders die.  I inked it with Antique Linen Ink and then placed it across the top of the card.

Thank you for visiting.

Inspirational Journaling with Netra

Hey everyone ! Netra here. Today I wanted to share my inspirational
journal. Its the journal that I will be adding in things that inspire me.
Thinks like Pictures, quotes, bible verses.
Last week I made a journal using  7 DOTS Studios Verano Azul Collection Kit

I loved it sooo much that I wanted to use it. But I had made one for myself
already and I did not want to waste it. So I made a removable cover to paper clip
onto the cover of it.
This collection is sooo pretty and great for your journaling experience.

I also made a folder with pockets for my journal and in the pockets I added
a little bit of the stickers and cut apart's to have on hand when Im adding to my journal.
Here is a picture of one of my pages.
I used stamps from my stash and a couple of stickers from the collection kit.

Thank you card

Hi everyone!

Pi here with a really simple card.
I've used a lot of second generetion stamping here, I like the subtle effect you get.
I've used Lawn Fawn ink pad hippo and you can see partial bits where I've used first generation stamping to add a bit of dimension.

Both the "little" Thanks and the "larger" Thank you are parts of the same stamp set. This set is just so versatile. You can put together sentiments for just about all occastions. You might have seen that I've used this stamp set in my pocketed scrapbooking. Putting together the sentiment "Thanks a bunch" for when my son sunk his first teeth in my finger - LOL! If not, you find that post HERE

Back to this card. I wanted the main "Thank you" to really pop, so instead of using another dye ink (ie lawn fawn liqrice) I used an archival ink. You could also use stazon, but I find that ink so tiresome to clean. I only have babywipes, but if you had some stamp cleaner it'll probably be just as fast.

Products used from the store:
Wplus9 design studio clear stamp set Handlettered thanks
Lawn Fawn ind pad Hippo
Ranger archival ink Jet black
Neenah cardstock solar white
Stamping supplies (acrylic block, doublesided tape, bonefolder)

Fun technique.. smooching using plastic bag and Maja Design A Gift for You Collection

Hi it's Bev back again,,,, and today at The Rubber Buggy I am sharing a fun technique I just learned.. call smooching.. and also highlighting products .... Maja Design A Gift for You Collection.
However first I used Modeling Paste and a stencil cut with cricut.. Star shapes... and add a thin layer of paste over the background paper.

It's not over powering.. but definitely adds texture.

Next using a plastic bag over your fingers.. do one of two things your choice... 1. add paint to bowl, lid or tray and add small amount of water to thin it out. Take the plastic bag over your finger and dab into paint .. now pat and smooch over the page. OR 2. put the plastic bag over your fingers and add ink from the ink pad to the bag and spray with a small amount of water and dab and smooch over page. When done with the 1st colour you can wipe off and dry with a paper towel and now repeat with more colours. Above is the sample of my background smooching. I tried both ways and it worked great.

Above is my finished page starting with smooching and then fun layers, accents and photos to finish off my page.
Supply List:
The Rubber Buggy Products:
Paper: Maja Design A Gift for You
Ink: Tim Holtz ranger distress ink
Other: Bella Creationz Twine, stickles, glossy accents
Cricut cut file: Scrapbook Stamps Society SVG cut files,
Paint, color box, Liquitex modeling paste, Studio 71 gesso

In the close ups you can view some details better. This section shows the smooching, the fun cricut cut title and border ornaments along with the corner twine tied accent.

This section shows the fun twine tied slanted border and cute santa accent.

Really cute tags came as part of the paper.. cut them all apart and clustered them for a cute accent.

This close up shows that one photo was trimmed leaving some white border and the other photo was print paper matted.

I enjoyed sharing this project with you today.. and sure hope you'll try both ways of smooching using a plastic bag and watered down colours.

Imagine!

Hi everyone!!

I hope you all had a great week ... now... enjoy the weekend!!
Noe here another Friday to show you my newest card...

I created a mask with "Imagine" Memory Die and  I glued it to the base of my card, then, using the blending tool and various colors of Distress inks  I have been doing my own background.

Once the background it´s ready, removed the shaped mask and outlines the word "imagine" with a black marker.
TIP: bokeh effect it´s achieved spraying water over the stamp and pushing it on the card!

Finally, put some enamel dots of different colors in different places of the card. Ready!!!

Steampunky

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here on this lovely Thursday.

I recently got some amazing papers from Blue Fern Studio.  This paper from Love Story - Twenty One is double sided and very sturdy.

Using Spellbinders dies, I cut around the image and used it as the focal point of my card.

The card base was embossed for dimension and the card was assembled.  This card came together very quickly because the paper had just the right elements.

DIY Inspirationl Quote Journal with Netra

My Personal Journal

1. Use any Scrapbboking paper you'd like. Cut down your fave sheet (to any size) and staple or sew white paper to the cover.
2. Use Journaling cards with quotes and stickers to decorate.
3. Each night, or morning, take a quote that you love and write it down. Or use some quote cards from scrapbooking paper to glue in.
The Mambi Paper pad is perfect for this. It has uplifting cards that you can cut out and use in your new Journal.
Have Fun !!!

I used the New 7 DOTS Studios Verano Azul Collection Kit

Merry and Bright

Hi everyone!

Pi here.
I just had to make a Christmas card :)
For me it's just great to make them early - although I have to admit, this is probably the earliest I've started. This time I was in the mood for a night sky and playing with my distress inks.

I have used an older Memory Box tree scene from my stash, but imagine how cute it would be with this winter scene from Wild rose studio if you'd like to make a similar card. Can you see where I have used the Lawn Fawn stamp set Deck the Halls? The larger trees in the background is embossed using the largest branch from the stamp set. I just masked off the rounded tip. The smaller embossed trees in the middle of the card is the other two branches from the stamp set. I then used the dotted line from the stamp set and created a border on my white piece at the front. Since it is a clear stamp and it's so long and thin, you can manipulate it some to follow a curve line.

I'm so, so happy with my night sky. I even managed to make little tiny droplets all over the sky with perfect pearl water and not great big blobs. But leave it to me to mess upp the embossing...  Well, well... At least the stamped border looks fine...

Products used from The Rubber Buggy store:
Distress ink Evergreen bough
Distress ink Chipped saphire
Distress ink Iced spruce
Lawn Fawn stamp set Deck the Halls
Lawn Fawn stamp set Snow days (the sentiment)
Ranger embossing powder Superfine white
Ranger embossing powder Superfine silver
Lawn Fawn ink Hippo
Ranger Perfect pearl Biscotti
Stamping supplies (acrylic block, distress ink applicator, doublesided tape, neenah cardstock)

We celebrate Graduation today

Hi.. it's Bev here today. My post shares my only Grand Son's Graduation. I thought the car papers was a perfect touch for a guy masculine page even for graduation. So I am using The Rubber Buggy product from Maja Design namely the Summer Crush collection.

Supply List:
The Rubber Buggy Products
Paper: Maja Design Summer Crush
Chipboard: Blue Fern Studios Flutter Page Dangles
Markers: copic
Ink: Tim Holtz ranger ink
Other: stitch, brads
Title: cricut cut files. SSS SVG film strip
Cardstock: misc

I matted the main sheet to add more layers and colours . The title is cricut cut... and I mated the photo twice.. one thin and one wide mat... used ink on the edges.

I  hand cut the pennants and inked the edges to make them pop and the colours are all so light and soft.

In this section I cut SSS SVG filmstrip and add very small photos .. some great ones of our school logo and one with  Jake and his parents. Also add the great chippie from the Blue Fern Studios Collection which is copic coloured.

Thanks for stopping by.. come again anytime.
